Where when I first installed the wad and opened up the banner on the Wii menu ready to click start, I was kind of worried. It's really a more boring and anticlimactic outcome than I had expected. You can try this one for yourself if you want, but I must warn you, it's not really interesting. As I've already said at the beginning of this post, this does not brick your Wii, so don't worry. :)Īnd now for the interesting one you've all been waiting for, the Wii U Menu channel. If anyone can reply confirming whether or not the cursor is slightly transparent on this channel being ran on Wii U, that would be cool. A friend of mine however does have a Wii U, which I've used, but have never had an actual reason to run this channel, so this is a mystery to me. The pointer cursor is slightly transparent, which I haven't quite figured out why, but I'm sure it isn't like that on an actual Wii U as I've never actually executed this wad on a Wii U before as I don't own one. ![]() This runs just as you'd expect it to run on Wii U, however it is locked in a 4:3 aspect ratio with no way to make it 16:9 as it isn't running on an actual Wii U, which confuses the channel, and causes it to run 4:3 as if that were selected in settings. Now the first one we'll talk about is the Wii Menu Manual. But as for the Menu Manual, and Wii U Menu, those are a different story, as they're obviously not available on the WSC. The version is the same version as the WSC has, just with interchanged text from "Wii U" to "Wii" and it being pre-installed. Of the 3 Wii U channels: Menu Manual, Wii U Menu, Transfer Tool, only one of which is already available on the Wii Shop Channel on Wii, the Transfer Tool, so we're not going to be talking about that, as there is no difference between the two. So as we know the vWii menu only has 6 pre-installed channels, those being the Disc Channel, Mii Channel, Wii Shop Channel, Wii Menu Manual, Wii U Menu, and the Wii System Transfer tool. They can only be deleted by manually uninstalling the wads through the wads you installed them with using WiiModLite, as the channels hide themselves from the channels page in WSS to prevent accidental deletion that may corrupt Wii U files, but we're on an actual Wii, so we don't have to worry about that. Although fair warning, if planning on installing any of the pre-installed vWii menu wads, they cannot be deleted through the channels page in the Wii System Settings. And for those wondering if this might brick their Wii, I have good news. So for anyone who has wondered doing something like this and if they will run, they do indeed run just like they would on a Wii U. Okay, so what I've tried is running channels from the Wii U's vWii menu on an actual normal Wii. Debunk this claim if you want, but I'm happy right now even if I'm not the first, so either way, I really don't care. This may have been already discovered, but as I'm typing this, I feel like I have just discovered this, however I highly doubt that, but I want to keep it fresh in my mind that I just found this, and that to my knowledge nobody else has tried this. ![]() Didn't really pay attention to anything other than the sites wads, so my bad. Apparently the link to the wad repository I found online apparently has pirated GC games.
